Fujifilm Tilburg develops gas separation membranes and membranes suitable for water purification, and ion selective membranes.
Ion Selective Membranes
Ion selective membranes are a type of filter, which lets through positively or negatively charged particles. This allows the removal of undesirable ions from salts, such as calcium salts and nitrates, from a flow of liquid.
Areas of application:
- Recycling of water in production processes
- Production of drinking water
- Energy generation, as an application in Blue Energy. Energy is generated from the difference in salt concentration between seawater and freshwater.

Gas Separation Membranes
Gas separation membranes select and separate molecules based, for example, on their size, so that pollutants such as CO2 can be removed from mixed gas flows.
Areas of application:
- Natural gas purification
- Bio-gas purification for green gas production
- CO2 removal from flue gas
- Hydrogen production and hydrocarbon emissions limitation in the petrochemical industry.
Competitive
Thanks to our many years of experience in ‘multi-layer’ coating and our great success in the field of quality, we are able to develop high quality membranes. Using an innovative polymer technology, we are working at competitive alternatives for the traditional separation technology.
