This is a unique technology where a thin layer is applied to a plastic film in ionized gas. Using this technology, quality super-barrier films can be made from cheap films. This development has to lead to cost efficient roll to roll production of this barrier films.
The end product can serve as a waterproof cover film on solar cells and other plastic electronica products, to prolong the lifespan of this products. Fujifilm works together with the Technical University of Eindhoven in the development of plasma technology.
