FUJIFILM wants to limit the use of groundwater

In cooperation with the district water board De Dommel and Brabantse Delta, FUJIFILM Tilburg will test a method that will purify water and make it reusable for the production process. Together with the De Dommel and Brabantse Delta, FUJIFILM signed the declaration of intent. If the pilot succeeds, FUJIFILM can considerably decrease their use of groundwater.

The techniques to purify this kind of waste water already exist, but these are labour-intensive, expensive and use a lot of energy. FUJIFILM wants to purify the water with low-energy and durable equipment, like membrane distillation and ion exchange. Friday 21 August the first container has been placed.
