FUJIFILM Manufacturing Europe B.V. and Evelop, the project division of sustainable energy solution, have signed a letter of intent for the development of a corporate wind farm. The letter of intent marks the start of the project, with construction expected to begin in 2011.

December 1, 2008

Once complete, wind farm will produce between 15,000 and 24,000 megawatt hours per year; enough to provide between 10 and 20% of the energy consumption of the company’s production plant in Tilburg, where the wind farm will bee located.

The development, comprising between three and five wind turbines, is expected to stimulate similar projects by neighbouring companies. The project reflects FUJIFILM’s drive to reduce its carbon footprint. At November 3rd, the municipality, the industry park management and FUJIFILM signed the agreement to develop wind energy on the industrial site Vossenberg in Tilburg.
