Membranes for water purification, on October 5th and 6th that’s what it was all about. For the first time, FUJIFILM was introduced as a membrane producer at the Wetsus congress in Leeuwarden. FUJIFILM-employees explained what the membranes are and why FUJIFILM is concentrating on this. The fact is, membranes consist of thin layers and that is just the technique FUJIFILM commands, because of the production of film and photo paper.

At the congress there was also information about the Gas Separation membranes and the Micro Filtration membranes, already being produced by FUJIFILM Japan. More and more FUJIFILM will become an all-round membrane producer. At this moment the first Ion Exchange membranes are being tested by various customers. FUJIFILM has the ambition to get the first Ion Exchange membranes in the market at the beginning of 2010.
