Fujifilm has its largest European production base as well as its logistics, finance and procurement control functions for the entire European market here at Tilburg in the Netherlands. The latest decoration is in recognition of Mr. Komori’s role as the President & CEO of Fujifilm in conducting a broad range of business activities in the Netherlands for Europe over many years, extending local assistance in terms of environmental conservation, and promoting education and R&D activities in partnership with Dutch universities and other public organizations.

Other factors that have merited his distinction include his efforts to promote cultural exchanges since Mr. Komori was appointed President of the Japan-Netherlands Society in June 2005, and significant contributions he made to the "Netherlands in Japan 2008-2009” celebrations marking the 150th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic relations and the 400th anniversary of bilateral trade relations.
